Talking Bits n Pieces of the New York City Metro

Its been a while since I started a Photo thread. I got a New Camera over the Holiday and have been taking some awesome pictures of various neighborhoods of large cities in this region. Snapshot of the New York City Metro , I have all 3 states.

Great shots! Thanks for sharing, Nexis4Jersey.

Congrats for your new camera, I see it works really fine. The night scenes are very well captured and they´re really sharp.

Enjoyed this varied thread, above all the pics of the Big Apple.

Congrats and greetings from Madrid, Spain.

Wow, they built the Long Beach boardwalk pretty quickly. I need to see Long Beach when it gets a little warmer.

The Ironbound definitely looks better than the view of Newark I saw from the NJT train two weeks ago!

the state line really makes it easy to overlook the essential "new york-ness" of newark, elizabeth, hoboken, union city etc.

Wonderful set of pics, so many great shots. #1 & #56 = Winners.

Your photos are really getting better, and it's not just the new camera.

Thanks for the tour Nex.

It was finished back in October

You probably saw the stalled abandoned lots in the Southern part along with the illegally constructed housing. The Lots in Question are set aside for a community center and school. The Illegal housing will be torn down and rebuilt more densely to fit with the neighborhood.

True , up intill a few years ago developers overlooked Newark. But now they are slobbering over it , and can't seem to buy up enough land to develop on. Its like the early 2000s in Jersey City.

Would it suprise you that I didn't use a tripod for those night shots?

nice shots.

edit: nevermind my question, i just saw your response to someone else. impressive!

It has its limits but in decent light settings you can get away without using a tripod or timer. Its unlikely that when I buy my new tripod , that i'll use in NYC for twlight or night shots. Its a pain to set up and often theres to much foot traffic. But not on the Jersey Side...
