That is a funny coincidence.

BTW just want to say that my wife and I were only participants. The true hero of the meet was a different lurker . Hope to see everyone again next time! Maybe we will get to see some progress on the new hotels, Seaholm, and - fingers crossed - 7th/Rio.

Edit: also thanks a lot for posting the photos, Haux. They look awesome!

It's so funny he got a photo of us driving by. Somehow I had a feeling. When we first drove up I was looking at the base of the Austonian from Colorado Street, just admiring it. After I first read this thread I even jokingly thought you guys were probably looking down on us driving by. It wasn't until looking at this thread again a few days later that I actually saw our van in haux's photo.

Anyone know what is going on with this building?

There has been scaffolding on the 2nd street side, balcony glass under wraps, and other construction items on site for well over a year now.

All the balconies are being replaced. They were built with rebar too close to the edge and pieces of cement were falling off. A chunk from an upper floor came close to hitting someone on the pool deck.

The Austonian Finally Flips the Lights Back On in Downtown Austin

https://austin.towers.net/the-auston...wntown-austin/

The new installation is a Lumenpulse product composed of 118 individually addressable full RGB fixtures each measuring 2’ in length. We’re able to split each fixture into two addressable points giving us a total of 236 individual points in the system. We’ve pre-programmed a number of ‘scenes’ and colors into the system to light up the tower for various holidays and to promote advocacy campaigns. We’re continuing to fine-tune the system now that it’s installed to better take advantage of the installation’s capabilities.
