here's a great aerial from the zion's tower facebook page that shows the location of JUMP downtown:

i'm hoping it's a slide, too, but it's probably just part of the design.

but then, there are still many mysteries about this project, so who knows...

that's the helix, or the core of the main circular portion of the building.

according to the floor plans, the round portion will contain the parking ramps for vehicles to reach the various levels of the below- and above-ground parking spaces.

the top floor of the circular portion will be a large ballroom with windows around the perimeter.

the floor plans are fascinating. this building will have a lot of studio space, administrative office space and displays.

oh -- and according to the floor plans, those twisting metal slides are actually referenced in the plans as "amusement slides," so maybe they're actual slides after all.

I've always been a fan of the Gateway Tower West. Built in 1998, for me this tower just came out of nowhere. Just trying to picture what It would look like as part of Boise skyline. Might be a tallest for you guys.

it would be, but not by much. the zion's will top out at 315' with the spire, though the roofline of the gateway would make it about 60 feet taller than both the zion and the u.s. bank building.

i'd like to see something like this tower in boise but a tad taller and with a more angled roofline.

after the zion's tower is built, boise will need about a 400-footer to give downtown a real "peak"... right now it'll full of 250-300 footers that makes the core pretty flat. boiseairport did a quick rendering of how a sleek 400-foot building would look on the JUMP site, and it looks great.

It looks like JUMP will connect the pioneer corridor with downtown. I have a feeling this development is going bring a lot of revitalization to the River street neighborhood.

we can hope. that district could definitely use some love.

latest rumors are that the simplot HQ building planned for the NW corner of this lot will be larger than planned, and may include surrounding lots. will be interesting to follow.
