There's no guarentee that I'm staying here. Once I'm done school, I'm considering moving elsewhere, even out of Canada. I'll go where the work is

Ah, so I can see why Manitoba isn't an option.

Well, Saskatchewan is actually at the bottom of my list of options, in the "Good God, only if I'm desperate; no wait, not even then would I move there" section.

We should change the name to the Regina Roughriders.

It was originally the Regina Roughriders, and the Regina Rugby club before that. The name was changed to Saskatchewan Roughriders in the 50's. Not sure why exactly

And Greco, I don't think low housing prices and a slower pace of life is what's behind the boom. Don't forget, Regina (and area) has all the oil!

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest it had something to do with maximizing the fan base.

Ruin?? .. if you mean make the city increasingly more attractive to business investment .. than yes he would probably ruin your government dependant city.. you call Regina.

Oh my gosh....did....no...did...did Winnipeg just call Regina out for being a government city?

Well if that isn't the pot calling the kettle black, then I don't know what is!

Actually Regina shouldn't be compared to Winnipeg at all, a fairer comparison would be to Brandon MB, the populations are a lot closer, both have agriculture dominated economies, Western Canadian Hockey League teams, envy of larger cities in their own province and both lack a good university!

I always thought it was Regina that envied Saskatoon.

That's the way I've heard it, anyways.

Not a chance. Alot of people from Saskatoon have a jealous/hate relationship with Regina whereas people from Regina don't give a damn about Saskatoon. Its gotta be tough for people from Saskatoon when they hear Rider players, coaches and media say how great it is to bring the Cup home to Regina!

Ahh yes, I forgot the superiority of Winnipeg's universities. U of M....ranked last in the Medical university category.

U of R is noted for a number of its programs; Journalism, Film, Education

How are Brandon and Regina similar in population? Perhaps you meant Moose Jaw and Brandon...Moose Jaw takes the cake easily.

Lasty, I am not envious of Saskatoon. If I was I would have chose to have remained in Saskatoon instead of moving south

Winnipegers should not be commenting on envying another city. Every second word you guys type is "Calgary."

Regina is much closer to Brandon's population than Winnipeg's, although there is still a larger difference. And as for Moose Jaw being "better", that's a laugh if I've ever heard one.

And as for envy, I've seen some Reginians on here that don't seem to think much of Saskatoon, so pot and kettle black to this comment.

Brandon's population is less proportional to Regina than Regina to Winnipeg....but alright, bend the facts to suit your argument.

Have you been to Brandon? Unless you enjoy hog plants....I can't really see it ebing anyone's thing. Moose Jaw has the third fastest growing tourism economy, and has a number of attractions worth visiting. I'm interrested to hear how you think Brandon "better" as you said. Downtown Moose Jaw is still thriving and will only continue tp with some of their planned projects. Brandon's downtown on the other hand...well I'm sure you know what sort of condition it's in.

I see some residents of Saskatoon who don't think much of Regina. What's your point? Every second post in the Winnipeg thread has to do with Calgary. The same can't be said about Regina/Saskatoon.
