Canada/EU free trade pact!

Talks are underway and it looks like a deal is emminent..........Canada and the EU are going to have a very comprehensive trade pact.

This agreement, however, will be far more comphrehensive than NAFTA including labour mobility.
It will be essentially the same as what the EU already has Nor/Ice/Swiz. It's as close to joining the EU as you can get.

It will be the first time since the inception of the EU that it will include a non-european country and, for a change, a large WEALTHY country as opposed to taking on the economic costs of poorer ones.

A G7 , rich country with many of the social/economic values that are in line with western Europe.

It hasn't been getting much news here due to the election but now is becoming front page news and should be good for Europe due the Canada having the #1 rated banking system in the world............that's not an exagerrated number either we do have the most solid banking system in the world. In this financial crisis that means a lot.

What do Europeans think or are they even aware of it?
