I like the cleaner lines and the inset penthouse. That previous design was a shitty knock off of Alta at K station.

Edit: looks like Curbed updated with better renderings

A city block long parking garage? No freaking way. I don't care how nice they make the retail on the first floor.

correct. that said, on the North side of the building, there is still what looks like grey concrete where otherwise windows would be located...does anyone know if they are punching those out? trying to understand why those wouldnt already be exposed. you can see by the pic that only one "column" is opened up

Yeah - i can't wait to see what the area is going to look like when it's all done. The West Loop is pretty crazy. When I was back a few weeks ago it was just insane. My girlfriend remarked that it looks like China because of all the construction cranes LOL

Tell me about it I rode the green inbound had not been on this route for almost a year and wow it honestly the West loop Fulton market area, feels totally different like a whole new neighborhood, the added bulk, and construction is truly ashtonisng. Chicago is like on steroids with all the growth and bulk it's adding,.

It helps to have a Facebook, Google, McDonalds, Walgreens, or whatnot announcement of 500-2000 job moving downtown every other week. I would say I don't know where everyone is going to live, but we are also slapping up housing at a break neck pace. With all these new announcements I'm getting increasingly bullish that downtown construction will not outstrip demand in the foreseeable future.

For me I have been living in oak park, invested in a condo, over 7 years ago, and the timing couldn't be more perfect. With a family now we plan to buy house and rent the condo I saw and see the demand and influx that I should benifit from for years. It's exciting, I can feel the wave of construction working its way west.

That parking garage NE/across the street from 145 wells is begging to bite the dust as well.

^ Simple and neat design. The facade has a very light and airy appearance, which I feel complements the Bush Temple well, with its skyward dormers and steep roof line. Now if only they would rebuild the cupola as a part of this project as well.

It looks like it meets the street well. Only 13 parking spots too! Win, win.
