Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Around and atop the (old) SCPA

A few weeks back, I posted a gallery of shots from within the SCPA building at 1310 Sycamore Street in the Pendleton area of Over-the-Rhine.

These shots were taken around the area of Sycamore and 13th streets, and from the rooftop of the SCPA building itself.

If you ever get a chance to go up there, I suggest that you take it.

Nice. Is this considered a "better" area of Over-the-Rhine? I was under the impression that it was a very poor neighborhood with a lot of abandonment.

Nice shots grasscat.

passdoubt, OTR is your typical older neighborhood that is going through a transition. I wouldn't consider this the best area, or the worst. The neighborhood is poor, but once again that is changing rapidly with hundreds of new condos filling up every year. Crime has declined 20+% for 2 or 3 straight years now. I have been saying for some time that this could easily become one of the most trendy/diverse neighborhoods in Cincy. It is well on its way.

I'll just add that the parts of OTR in the photographs don't suffer from as much abandonment as some other parts of the neighborhood.
