I don't know about that. They started to put up the first one, and I'm going to withhold judgement for now.

Lofts at 12th Street - 2724 East 12th Street. Elevations show it to be 60 feet to the main roof and 65 feet to the mechanical penthouse.

I totally agree with the "unsightly" businesses on this stretch, especially after you've just passed the nicely designed "Welcome to Austin" rock/water feature as you exit the airport. I would think there are, or would be future plans for a flyover exiting the airport connecting with westbound 71. If so, the property you're referring to would not be very suitable for any decent development.

One thought I've had about the properties fronting Texas 71 is that it could be redeveloped with car dealerships. Then the motor mile along I-35 could be redeveloped with whatever would be appropriate there. Basically move the motor mile from I-35 to 71. There already are some dealerships opening along 71 anyway. I suppose it would be a case of take your pick, which is worse - interstate noise or landing jets noise.

Actually, "bro"... not really. After looking closely to the render it appears this project will be where Liberty now stands...and I happen to like to go there for a beer after I get my architecture porn tats

Seriously tho, does anyone know if liberty is closing or moving?

Liberty is safe--going in between it and the Grackle.

Uhh, do the developers of "The Platform" know something we don't about Austin's Urban Rail? This is a slide from their promotional material in the link above. Guess a map with just the Red Line wasn't good enough.

Lazy intern google image search.

Even the CACDC isn't pushing that particular variant anymore.

^Actually that is basically the consensus now for the MOS Phase 1 we are pushing to have the council direct the firm doing the corridor study to use vote for this November. It is still a long shot but there is still a lot of momentum. It sure would make the CC look good, something they desperately need if any of them hope to save their seat next election.
Although I think we would push for a convention center terminus rather than seaholm.
It is really lame for them to use this in a professional manner.

Uh, no it isn't.

Look at the 2 mile long linear parking lot under 183. And the loop around 183 up to Fairfield.

That's map is the one Morris was pushing 3 years ago.

Which is basically the exact same as all advocates are asking for at UTC and and mobility meetings except the terminus would probably go to the convention center.
