I doubt it. It'll probably only fit Cypress's need for a daylodge for it's skiing ops. Their old one was a POS 10 years ago, and the mountain has grown a lot since then.

would be a rather tiny hotel....and empty during the summer. i believe the new facility will have more food options and dining areas, washrooms of course, rental facilities, etc.

It looks nice enough but it is not super impressive. It looks like something that should have been built years ago.

Well, it probably won't be completely vacant during the summer. Cypress should be starting their bike park back up eventually. If I recall its only been closed down the last couple years because of construction that they were doing for the olympics getting in the way.

they're trying to become four season... they want to host weddings, the bike park, more organized summer hiking, etc.

In any case, if they were to build a hotel up there the ideal location would be to build it at where the current old mini-lodge is beside the parking lot.....or maybe at where the cross-country trails are?

Thanks for the pic of the actual building. I was stuck in the snow at my house for a while during the holidays so I didn't get a chance to take a look it. Must plan a visit soon....

Cypress Mountain is the largest skiing mountain in the Great Vancouver Area....with new runs and chairlift this year!!
