As I'm told, there were "issues" that led to a significant delay in closing.

Ahhh - maybe if Telus retained any rights-of-way across the site that could impede future redevelopment?

Pic by me today.

Looks like the slatted gray screen around the top of the William Farrell Building is being completely replaced by a solid blue screen.
Nice to see some colour, anyways.

And by me today.

Nice signs.

I wonder if there will be a sign facing west over Seymour (maybe at the Robson corner)?

Only the sign facing south over Robson was lit,
so maybe the one facing the Telus Garden condos does not light up?

I'm also expecting a sign above the Robson entrance, assuming that will remain the main entrance to the offices.

A linear forest of potted trees and flowers has appeared on Richards Street.

What is it with this city and its seemingly endless need to make its sidewalks as narrow as possible!!!

They only make them wide enough for one bike, and that's it!

I saw those this morning - they definitely mitigate the barren look the sidewalk had before.
This many are sort-of overkill though.
I'm surprised they appear so level given the grade of the hill.
I think they are pushed to the outside so they get some water from the rain, but presumably, they will have to water them.
Their height also hides the businesses (just CIBC) behind.
Normally, you'd see shorter planters. Benches would have been nice (but may have attracted vagrants).

From the picture it appears that they are partially in front of a bank. So perhaps they are also acting as crash barriers?

So they took a new public amenity of a wider-than-normal sidewalk, created through mandatory at-grade setbacks, and turned it into two narrow residential side street-width sidewalks. That's appalling.

That's true. How was the mandatory setbacks there but across the street l'hermitage didn't require any setback?

That’s a low traffic sidewalk so I don’t think the plants will have much effect.

I've always wondered that.
That's a really narrow sidewalk in front of L'Hermitage.
I've seen people walking on the inside of the planters to stay under shelter.

The blue rooftop screen on the Avigilon Building has been erected on the alley side facing the Telus Garden condo.

The steel on the Avigilon Building awning has been painted a light gray (originally white when installed)... makes the building look more drab.

Speakers are probably noise deterrents from people loitering?

There are lots of banks facing the street without giant planters so I doubt that's the reason.
