I get the same sense – sounds like all that's planned is the restaurant, and nothing really happening with the rest of the building at this point.

Mentioned in restaurant thread that Bodegoes is reopening in the former Pita Pit space at Old Market Square. Of note is that their old space has no lease signs up yet, so maybe that project is still on the table?

The Royal Albert needs major $$$ to really make an impact in the area. I think what we will end up with is an inexpensive bandage, not even a fabric bandage, but one of those cheap plastic bandages.

Winnipeg Sun has a article today about Centreventure returning to its former business model of marketing city properties.

"CentreVenture Development Corporation hopes to top up its current assets by officially taking over three city properties and using the development proceeds to pay its annual operating costs. The proposed new additions include The Market Lands, a storage building at 311 Ross Ave. and a Ross Avenue surface parking lot."

Just waiting for the owners approval to proceed.

^ I don't think there have been any renderings released for this project... unsure of units, but 8 or 9 storeys, I think.

Oh, I think I was confusing it with that project proposed years ago for the corner of James and Bertha.

Super excited for this. It's kind of too bad the city made the mistake of not continuing Ship Street further north, but hopefully they extend Elgin east of Bertha so that any vehicular access to this project is forced to be off the lane/Elgin instead of on James.

Excellent. I am happy with the height too, which the area needs.

Not bad, that's fairly tall for around Waterfront Drive...

^I would love to just see something super modern, colourful, and out there – such a mix of styles right in that area, and with the modern buildings that will be built flanking the pump house, would be a neat little design hub.

Notably, right across the street from the 316-118 Ross Ave development currently underway.

Could see one of the most dramatic "organic" turnarounds of an area on that block in such a short time if there's interest in the mentioned lot. Awesome. CV is also currently marketing a few lots in Chinatown.
