^ I know that the QSC is not exactly a crowd pleaser, but I have to say I find it gratifying to see such a big and visible lot get filled in with a building.

Heard from someone today that DeLuca's is planning on opening a downtown location (she said planning, but they could just be exploring it). Somewhere in the Exchange, but she wasn't sure whether East or West half.

It could be worse. It is a non-profit, so I am not going to raise a pitchfork over it. To have a massive structure occupy that area is great.

The old Bricks Fine Furniture space on Market Ave would be a sweet spot for Deluca's.

New clinic at 286 McDermot (Maltese Cross) with special focus on gay/bisexual men. I wonder how long this one will last?

No sarcasm, I am not sure why you say that ? I mean do we expect to have a future shortage on gay and Bi men in this region in the immediate future even though we as a population are growing? ?
Are there several competing options in this category??

It just makes Bronuts' even more ridiculous looking. Oh well, I don't think they'll be around much longer.

Yes. Signage--good signage--can truly impact the visual interest of rather plain storefronts.

Why do you say that?

Part of the reason for that could have been the doctor -- I went there once and was put off by his attitude (and I'm not very picky). He's switched to just doing surgery now, which probably suits him better.

Yeah, even if they painted the concrete their orange colour it'd look 100x better.

I say that because their hours suck, the coffee sucks, and Tims makes better donuts for 1/10 of the price. I have not heard of one person who has actually liked the donuts. Their also pretty snobby and think their shit doesn't stink... This isn't NYC, people aren't going to line up around the block for your one batch of lacklustre donuts a day. Rent there can't be cheap either.

^ Please no painted concrete

As for Bronuts, I guess the initial success went to their heads. What they didn't know is that every new Exchange District restaurant gets slammed with patrons for at least the first week or two... it's a lot harder to keep them coming back.

Yes to painted concrete, especially dark orange. Why go you want something to like a street?

I think it's happening guys. Boarding on the windows came down on Tuesday and the signage went up this afternoon. Sorry for the itty bitty picture but it gets bigger if you click on it.

Fairchild signage in the front windows. The whole building has been boarded up while it's been for sale the last couple years, but the boards came down a couple days ago and looks like there are actually signs of life inside.
