Agreed, the Reilly foods building on the other side turned out great too. Love the black trim and the font they put too.

Once again, thanks for the great pictures. I know it takes time and effort, but it means a lot to those of us no longer living in N.O.

A few comments:

1) 700 Baronne turned out really nice! I'm curious when they will start with the Marquis apartments next door.

2.) The Kalorama I love, except the color. I'd like to see it white.

3.) Canopy of Peace hasn't changed in over a week. This canopy is very interesting and I surely hope they are doing it right.

4.) Higgins Hotel is definitely taller than I thought. You can see it from most of Warehouse District and beyond.

5.) Love the Julia but they need to hurry up because the traffic around it is it killing me!

Great pics though!

One Shell Square getting new name with Hancock Whitney move

Hancock Whitney is moving its office at 228 St. Charles Avenue to a space in One Shell Square, which will be renamed with the relocation.

The new office will open Dec. 10 on the second floor of the 51-story tower at 701 Poydras St., a news release said. One Shell Square will become the Hancock Whitney Center.

The bank’s remaining departments and over 500 associates will move in phases from December through February. Hancock Whitney will occupy nine floors of the Central Business District building.

this will be a bit like Willis Tower (aka Sears Tower ) in Chicago.. will be a long time before people refer to it as such if ever... but times change and this city is moving on from oil and gas so perhaps alot of symbolism there too

Looks like garbage.

The bottom resembles a generic Atlanta apartment building with a Vegas hotel plopped on top. I can only assume the architect isn't local, which is a shame.

That site is going to need a better design if its going to be a true catalyst for that area.

I actually don't mind it. It's better than anything that has been built here in recent memory.

I'd still rather more glass. Glass never really goes out of style.

I dont think its that bad.. i think it will be fine.. the issue over there is going to be attracting people and then having them want to stay in the area... last time i was unfortunately in houston for an event i stayed at one of the convention hotels... its got the same problem this will have.. no one stays in the area because well there just isnt much to do ... so to make this work they will have to have more there for people to do and that may just be something that happens over time... but wont be ready to 2023? geez that seems a long time

I would hope any group spending $558M would want a modern iconic structure in the skyline that would be highly recognizable and define your brand for years. I don't believe this building comes close... Boring!
