FYI, Canadians should be saying "holidays" and not "vacation". Typical Americanisms.

isn't it just singular "Holiday". It sounds nicer to say "I'm on holiday" than "I'm on holidays".

We're culturally the same people so by your logic Americans are being Canadian by saying vacation.
