Just trying to get a rough sense of what is being completed in 2024.

Switch at Stationlands: 285
Hat 122: 134
Edward Block: 161

Total: 580

I have read that the last census which showed Edmonton as having no growth in the downtown area was a bit misleading as the outer central zone had quite a bit of growth. The numbers for next year seem to show that this is changing.

And then Mercury Block 2, which is larger than the first I believe, correct?

So it looks like two pads for residential construction? I guess them being more conservative than what they did with Heritage Mall bring quicker timelines?

Any word on Grandin 2? I suspect that it will go following Grandin 4 next door.

Ledcor
Our Ledcor team recently finished a long and challenging pour of the concrete slab that will be supporting this 9-level tower. It took 17 hours and 99 cement trucks to complete.

Station Lands North is a mid-rise rental residential tower atop a 4-level mixed-use podium that will form part of The Switch at Station Lands – a dynamic live-work environment in Edmonton, Alberta.

Check out the video to see how it was done!

We are heading in to year 7 of the 10 year deadline set by council for the Alldritt Tower. If it expires, does the current 'park' just stay as is; or is the land returned to the city?

Quote:
The vote Wednesday starts the clock for Alldritt Group. It has 10 years to finish geotechnical studies, detailed design and secured a valid development permit. If it misses the deadline, the company loses the rights granted by this rezoning and nothing can be built except a park.

Is the S-W mixed use centre in Griesbach under construction fully or just one apartment building?

Pete Wardell 1st - Director of Business Development at Chandos Construction

As Edmontonians, we all know how much strain our downtown has been under since the advent of COVID. This is why Chandos Construction is excited to have commenced construction on one of Jasper Ave's largest revitalization projects in some time.

Chandos has partnered with Morguard and Kasian Architecture Interior Design and Planning to reimagine the three-level podium at Rice Howard Place. Construction started in October, with both the interior and exterior revitalization scheduled for completion in April 2025.

We cannot wait for the heightened activation between Jasper Ave and Rice Howard Way that will occur with transforming this iconic Edmonton building into a Class A asset. When you combine this with the recent announcement that Canadian Western Bank's national headquarters will be moving to Manulife Place just one block away, I truly believe we are at an inflection point of our downtown's culture and vitality.

We are both humbled and excited to be working with Morguard and Kasian, along with our consulting and trade-partner teams: Arrow Engineering Inc. a division of Englobe Corp., RJC Engineers, Kerr Drywall, Flynn Group of Companies, GREEN LANTERN ELECTRIC, Arpi's North Inc., Division Nine Flooring, LTM Industries, and Rago Millwork Solutions.

If they are serious about opening up Rice Howard Way then they really need to get rid of that LRT entrance at Jasper Ave. It's a concrete bunker that serves no purpose except as a homeless shelter.

That needs to go or be a big glass box as it was supposed to be replaced with 5-7yrs ago.

The bigger issue for me is that the space between RHWP and Enbridge has become quite the gathering spot for backpacks, red clothing and disorder.

But I am guessing all in due time.
