Yeah, seems like it. Good to see this one moving forward. I will likely never make it to this area to see it myself, but good to see them moving forward. Another visible landmark in metro area.

What is also noticeable, is that although perhaps it was mentioned before, it is just now ready to appear, and this has come about seemingly fairly quickly.
Rather sudden and rather cool.

I just live down Scott Road from this project, so tomorrow on my commute to school, I'll try grabbing some pictures.

Scott Road needs to stop having all these boring strip malls.
agree! and don't forget that HUGE power line on top of the scottsdale exchange, really constrain the potential.

I grew up over there - North Delta likes being a bedroom community of SFH and boring strip malls. Also Scottsdale Exchange is on the Surrey side of Scott Road.

Powerlines on top of Scottsdale Exchange? That's in Surrey up near the Home Depot and there are no power lines anywhere near it.

The only power lines that cross Scott Road follow 88th and cross where Nordel Way begin. The power lines are actually over the road so there is no issue with development.

Well I'll be you're right. I guess I've lived in the area so long I just tune them out. Just looked at Google though and it isn't actually over Scottsdale exchange it runs over the road on the Surrey side. That mall won't be redeveloped anytime soon.

He probably means the mall on the other side where it does look to go right over the parking lots.

Knowing Delta though I think 80 -> 88 is the best stretch for redevelopment. A lot of the buildings around 72nd Ave are new so not near redevelopment. Around 84th though you have a lot of old buildings from the 60s and 70s that are prime for being taken down and rebuilt as high-rises.

On the Delta side of 75th A Ave and Scott Rd, I spotted this sign.

They've also cleared up the lot on 76th A Ave and Scott Rd, its been fenced up for a couple of months so far.

A little map I made to show what's going on around here, I guess ...

I drove by today before 8am. Almost missed it as it is so unnoticable right now.

Not much has changed from Yellow Fever's photos above. They are still working below the ground.

Compared to downtown Van it is...

It's basically at one end of a strip mall that's been slowly filling in its parking lot (I used to live out there). Just to the right of the pic is a lowrise medical building, and just to right (beyond the trees) are townhouses and a lowrise apartment building. Across the street are the only towers in N Delta.

Yeah, I don't really know what the attraction to build a high-rise in this exact location is.
