Boise is Blossoming ~ Spring photo Extravaganza

Well, I have playing around with my new camera, wasting too much time so hopefully you enjoy. This will be a continuation thread of spring progressing in Boise with photos posted off and on and a thread or two posted in the main city photo forum.

I will still post a Boise River Greenbelt continuation thread later this spring, but am going to pm a few people who may want to be a part of it.

spring is a fine time in the City of Trees

I am half way blind after this shot. HDR but looking straight into the sun.

Have you also learned that secret from the river; that there is no such thing as time? That the river is everywhere at the same time, at the source and at the mouth, at the waterfall, at the ferry, at the current, in the ocean and in the mountains.-Hermann Hesse

In an internet forum full of overstatements -- this is an understatement IMO.

Great shots.

the greenbelt and river in the Veterans State Park area. March 31

Thanks eastidaho. It is going to start getting crazy in a few more weeks, spring that is. The Boise River is supposed to hit flood stage Tuesday and it is only the first week of April.

Stenar, thank you. I like that building too. I will have to find out when it stopped operating as a bow and arrow store.

Beautiful Sawtooth... This thread brings sanity to this forum which has seen a lot of insanity the past 4 to 5 days. Your pictures clear the mind after reading some of the discussion going on in other threads.

Awesome job Sawtooth, thank you for snapping these and posting them here. I got inspired by looking through some of your previous photos to go out and snap some pictures of the Treefort Music Festival. I might go out again and get some photos while Spring is blossoming. The composition of your photos and your ability to capture all the fine details and little quirks throughout Boise is really great, and something I definitely look up to.

Man, I say this again and again, but the Transit art was such a great idea. I hope more things like this are implemented throughout Boise.

I don't understand why they installed new bus stop shelters. Aren't we supposed to get a new transit center?

Anyway, good pics sawtooth, your tour represents a pretty long bike ride. I love the green lawn at the Sewage Treatment Plant, they must fertilize it a lot. Have you ever checked out the Sewer Plant building itself? It's art deco and I keep meaning to post some pics of it.

Thanks everyone for the comments. Boysee Boi, I bought a Nikon D5100 and in the process of purchasing another lens or two for it. It is a completely different animal compared to my worn out point and shoot.

BoiseAirport, thanks for the nice compliment If you end up taking any photos feel free to post them here.

boisecynic, I have seen the sewage plant building a few times and it is a cool building. Do you know what year it was built? I found it humorous how the lawn near the sewage plant was lush green before the rest of the grass along the belt and parks was beginning to green up. Zamzows?

Awesome photos, can't wait for the photo thread, Sawtooth!!

I hope you don't mind, but I think I too will start a photo thread soon, I've been going around snapping photos of the Treefort Music Fest, Beat Pete run, and other parts of downtown and would love to share them.

Thanks BA!!

Go for it, I missed out on Treefort but heard a lot about it and it sounds like an event that progressive Boise can keep on pulling off well into the future. There is so much talent here in all aspects of the arts and music.

An option is maybe we could have Cottonwood rename this thread to be a catch all type of Spring photo thread for those of us who love to photograph Boise.

I think that's a great idea, Cottonwood, I would be happy to contribute!

Also, after class I'm going to post a photo thread today in the city photos section, I finally finished editing last night.
