thats the old 2002 design of the building although the new one will be identical in size and height

I'm not sure if the new Marriott Courtyard was approved yet, I also heard talk of another condo development possibly going up in the area, but a hotel would make more sense seeing how busy with traffic it is.

Salpare Bay is going up on Hayden/Tomahawk Island I think.

They must have gotten approval quietly since it is up and framed already. I verified with the Courtyard that it is a Residence Inn going up.

jeebus...that went under my radar. Makes me wonder if that area can be pulled together to become something nice...since it is the gateway to Oregon, would be nice if there was a plan.

Cool, thanks for the info. I have updated my personal spreadsheet, but have not edited that list online yet (partly because I haven't taken the time to learn how to edit a post). But the list is up to 147 buildings now and I'm sure I have missed a building or two along the way. I'm also trying to learn how to submit drawings so that I can give the Vancouver diagram something to look at, but only have had a few spare moments lately as work has been crazy.

I just got back from visiting Portland this weekend and Wow! I had no idea so much construction was going on there. My in-laws live west of Portland in Banks and are not fans of big cities, but this this weekend, just for me, we went to downtown Portland. It was my first time there and not just driving past and it was incredible.

My father in-law hates traffic so we took the MAX in from Hillsborough. We saw alot of the sites there. But I was surprised at all the consruction. I fell in love with Portland and am seriously considering moving there. (my wife already wants to move since her family is here)

And now reading this thread about all the projects blows my mind. I usually spend all my time in the Vegas thread so I get tunnel vision thinking Las Vegas is the only city going through a high rise boom. Good job in keeping this thread updated. I wish I knew more about Portland to add some things but for now I'm content in reading and learning about this great city.

Glad you enjoyed the city. It really is as good living here as it is to visit, if not better. Check out our South Waterfront and Pearl threads in the highrise section too. They are more detailed about the two major areas on each end of downtown that are seeing the most growth.

Sorry, havent quite figured out how to post images, but they can be seen on the respective sites. The H45 looks likely to begin soon, the site was fenced off and it looked like early work had begun. I think H45 will be good infill for the neighborhood, the Meranti seems somewhat out of scale but I'll take it over 11 McMansions on virgin land

Will be 3 floors with 24 units and 4,400 sq feet of retail facing on to Fremont. From the looks of it, they have been doing foundation work on the fenced-off site, so its U/C. nice to see more development in the eastside neighborhoods
