Tried using an iCloud public photo URL, but it didn't work. I may have to sign up for Flickr or some other service.

Someone previously said you don't have to sign up for Imgur. And, it's not the URL if you want to show the actual picture in the thread.

Someone with more experience should explain.

Guidance would be much appreciated, as there doesn't seem to be a way to directly upload a photo from my Mac and my attempts at cutting and pasting only displayed a filename/path.

Upload it on Imgur. On the right hand side there's a bunch of links, you want to copy the BBCode one. I generally select the Large Thumbnail image to share so it doesn't take up the whole page when loaded on here.

Thanks. After all of that, I'm not sure that this shot is worth it, but here's 8th & Arch yesterday: [IMG][/IMG]

Regrettably small windows on this building.

A triumph or architecture it is not. Welcome "infill" at best in a sea of surrounding asphalt. I'm indifferent about the new parking garage facade, but that clunker visually had nowhere to go but up.

Great! Thanks for the update.

Hopefully the surrounding lots start to get infill as well.

Status of two piazza-like developments

Hey does anyone know what's happened with those two large planned developments just north of Girard a few blocks north of the Piazza that also were about 5-7 stories with an open space in the middle. One of them was Liberty something?

It was the SoKo Lofts and the Liberty Square Piazza I believe.

I live right there.

Liberty square will be breaking ground in a couple of weeks. Permits are finally all in order.

SOKO was just bought by a new developer who had minor changes, brought it to the neighborhood last week, and looks to break ground in the next couple months.

Another housing development is going to fill in the long vacant land at 5th and thompson.

ITS MOVING NORTH!!!

There is new construction all the way up at 6th and Berks (and no, I'm not talking about the APM stuff).

HUP to Perelman Bridge Construction. Making strides, 7/12 convention ave. will be shut down and the remaining steel should rise. From that point on it should move rather quickly. The remaing offices and Occupational Medicine are slated to move out of Penn Tower by AUG 15th the latest. Driscoll who occupy's the 15ht floor will be the last to take residence elsewhere. Many have already moved to trailors atop 3600 garage. They have been drilling/testing around Penn Tower for the last week. Checking water tables and bedrock. Speaking to a Driscoll guy, they are more worried about Bedrock being an issue as they want to go 4 levels below street. CHOP during their construction of Buerger had to use controlled explosives, that's a pending option with the Muesum right next door.

Few things....

Despite the Phillies season of absolute horrors ...

The lots Brandywine bought on West Market are even bigger than I remember that block being ... its huge, they could build 2 FMC Towers here if they wanted.

(clearly divided - memorial corner)

I guessing the one hold out is the building there that still has the Space Available signage

New home - random pic - Fitler Sq area

[IMG]IMG_2482 by screennameLLC, on Flickr[/IMG]

22nd and Walnut - Walnut Estates; Van Pelt, empty lot here 2116 CHestnut, empty lots screaming for development - this area is ready to explode

I have to think it's only a matter of time for these lots - and not a lot of time...

[IMG]IMG_2499 by screennameLLC, on Flickr[/IMG]

[IMG]IMG_2425 by screennameLLC, on Flickr[/IMG]

I guess it's also only a matter of time for the whale - waiting on renderings PMC...

[IMG]IMG_2458 by screennameLLC, on Flickr[/IMG]

And in closing, FMC is everywhere - it looks huuuge already from many areas on both sides of the river. Great.

I agree about the windows, but it's probably a function of the nature of the housing. I think a lot if not most of the units in the building are studios as they are for formerly homeless and low income residents. The units are probably too tiny for big open windows to work well.
