Thanks to everyone with pictures and info on this project. This is going to be the 1st building that we can go over 900' up any time and enjoy the view or stay.
Gentlemen, we are finally looking at the manifestation of these past 55 pages of comments, the hopes and dreams of us Angelinos, and a kick-ass new skyscraper!
Is that curved hole being dug Gonna be aligned with the curved side of the building?
Yeah, last week they put in all those pilings along the foot print of the tower and poured cement in 'em, and now we know that's so they can dig extra deep there.

So awesome i was actually thinking the base of the tower was going to take up the whole site, but the footprint looks pretty big still.. So exciting

Livin in L.A. is a beautiful thing.
The Downtown News is reporting that Korean Air will hold a "bottoming out," ceremony for the project next Wednesday. Official groundbreaking is still scheduled for late December/early January.
I just read an article online from the downtown LA news.
This morning they held a ceremony for the bottoming out.
The next item on the checklist will occur now on Feb 15-16.
That's when the 24,000 yards of concrete will be poured over
the course of three days, creating a nearly 20' thick foundation.
