It's already 7am on Christmas Eve here in Europe, so Merry Christmas to everyone! Seems that you guys will be having a colder winter over there than we have in here, which is pretty unusual.

No chance of white Christmas this year, unfortunately, but it looks like it will still be a dry one. Without snow it is pitch dark here on the 60th parallel and sun comes up only after 9:30am. Need to keep those Christmas lights on all night to make for at least some light.

It looks there will be fantastic snow conditions on the BC mountains, so go push some snow for me and enjoy your time! Cheers.

I got the perfect present already - J. made me meet her out off Stavanger Drive to give me wool socks with "Da Once" on it. An expression I use all the time, and one of my fave bands.

I'll wear them out this winter, and then keep the top half.

Do ye do most events on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day? It's mostly Christmas Eve for my family now that we're all adults - presents and everything on Christmas Eve, a lazy Christmas morning, and then get back together in the afternoon for a big feed.

Went outside without a jacket. This is like the best Christmas eve weather wise.

One of the first-ever well-produced videos of one of my favourite Christmas traditions here.

This deserves a bump to the next page.

Beautiful video, beautiful city. Thank you FrAnKs!

I kept thinking I should watch again and try to follow on a map... but with all the turns it's not easy for someone who does not know the town, and that would be beside the point anyway.

Merry Christmas to all.

On radio yesterday in London there was a "Happy Ramadan" message alongside the Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah messages. Ramadan this year was during June-July.

Almost every year I hear someone mention Ramadan being one of the "holidays" celebrated in December. I'm genuinely curious how a month-long period of fasting (more akin in Lent in Christianity), which rarely falls during December, became synonymous with Christmas for some people.

Merry Christmas from the sunshine coast. Stuffed from bad Chinese take out and drunk from rum. A perfect Christmas Eve.

The cold west coast is sadly jealous.

Merry Christmas everyone! Christmas Day is the quietest day of the year in downtown Vancouver so my other half and I always do a long walk to marvel at the mostly empty streets, sidewalks and closed stores and businesses. It was bright and brisk and a nice day to be out and about.

The best part of the day was when we saw about six bald eagles flying around Crab Park just east of Canada Place on the harbour. Two of them decided to come over and sit on a light standard right at the end of Canada Place.

mcminsen, I get stoked any time I get to see a bald eagle, much less TWO of them. That's a pretty cool gift from Momma Nature.
