^ Edmonton is at 4: The Pearl (36) Corner 1 (23) CWB branch (we don't know how tall it will be yet, but it will be a highrise and the crane is in and it is u/c) and the Chem building at U of A

Should be adding three more in the next few months with Ultima (32) Jasper Hilton (16) and Beth Shalom (22)

Not exactly, no. Tracking cranes would require visiting all of the sites frequently and it is still typically many months between a crane being taken down and occupancy.

2/3rds seems like a reasonable assumption though based on typical construction cycle.

I take it the CWB branch, and the Chem building are over 12 floors.

^ correct. ChemE is 13, now word yet on how the CWB tower portion will be, but it'll be a lot taller than 12, guaranteed.

Looks like 18 under construction now, if you don't include excavation for the 3 Nova Centre towers.
I count 7 that are u/c with cranes or cranes bases.

Kind of annoying how no one in Vancouver seems to bother with these threads anymore, oh well, I honestly have no idea and don't really want to try, but I know there are those on the Vancouver forum who do know.

I did post what I know for the sleepy little suburbs of Coquitlam and Port Moody (I see them everyday during my commute). But no one care about suburbs I guess...

I honestly don't know the number for Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, and even Surrey though... There seems to be lots of them...

I'd love to know the crane count for the city and metro Vancouver.

It's probably much higher than one would expect since a lot the highrise areas are built out and development has moved to 10-15 storey projects outside the core. Those projects tend to get ignored on a skyscraper centric forum like SSP.

1 of those buildings is a reconstruction (King Edward Hotel) which is undergoing substantial internal work.

I have an additional 15 buildings in Toronto being excavated which is probably low as it's been a long time since I did a tour of proposals.
there is also the old 4 seasons as well as Imperial plaza that are undergoing serious interior renos.

Don't know for sure, but I'd say the number for Shanghai is well over 300, especially given how many residential projects are under construction in the suburbs of the city.

According to SSP, the City of Vancouver has 28 under construction.

http://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?cityID=1&statusID=2

Here is a list for the Vancouver CMA, (maybe incomplete).
Vancouver 28
Burnaby 9
Richmond 17
New Westminster 4
North Vancouver 2
Coquitlam 3
Surrey 1
Port Coquitlam 3
Total 67

Firstly thanks

Secondly I used to keep track of cranes but once I moved out of town and there was 20+ construction cranes in the sky I took them off the list.

The list is slowly coming up to the SSP guidelines but it still needs some work. For 12+ stories under construction goes from crane installation - foundation - frame - exterior. Once it is first occupied it moves to recently completed.

Looking at the list I count 15 high-rises under construction in HRM + 3 Excavations (Nova Centre) + 1 Crane Waiting (Citadel Hotel Apartment) + 1 Major Expansion waiting for crane (TD Tower). As for cranes I believe;

- Citadel Hotel North & South Towers
- Saint Lawrence Place Residential
- Craigmore
- Abigail I - II
- Grand Haven Heights I - IV (unsure how many cranes on site at least one though)
- The Hazleton

So that would make 8-11 high-rise projects with cranes in HRM.
