Have you also learned that secret from the river; that there is no such thing as time? That the river is everywhere at the same time, at the source and at the mouth, at the waterfall, at the ferry, at the current, in the ocean and in the mountains.-Hermann Hesse

What is up with the first picture in this thread...the one with the mask and face painted bike riders? Activists?

Thanks IdaBoi.

Are you involved in a public art project BoiseAirport? I'm really into the art downtown too, it seems like it is everywhere in some form. The displays on the electric boxes on the sidewalks are awesome, except for the one in my photo below near the Capitol, it needs a painted scene like the others.

Here are a few more I have uploaded.

Our city has done an excellent job with street level engagement....the bricked sidewalks, trees, bike racks, planter boxes/pots, benches, again the trees, and of course art, did I mention the trees?, it's like downtown is becoming an outdoor art gallery.

That last shot is great. I really like how the giraffes can peek over into the park as well.

October 29th. A few views from above Military Reserve @ Eagle Ridge

Thanks Visualize.

Later next week I hope to post my official fall thread in the city photo forum. Most of my photos I will post in that thread will be different from photos in this thread. I'm giving it time because we have not even peaked yet with the fall colors.

Looking over The Northend

and yours truly, a little view of downtown.

Black Forest @ Military Reserve/Fort Boise, about 1 mile on bike from the Capitol

Military Reserve in the Foothills is 460 acres and is basically adjacent to downtown and connects over 130 miles of mountain biking and hiking trails known as the Ridge to Rivers Trail System to the Boise River Greenbelt.

Here are a few photos, more will be in the photo thread I will be posting in the city photo forum.

Looking down the Gulch which has a creek. Fort Boise and downtown are close by, to the right of this view.

This is a sweet mountain biking trail

^ I love those last snow shots. It seems to be a typical occurance that there is a defined snow line that sits just above the valley through most of the winter. I'm curious what the actual height above the valley floor that is usually located at. If it's low enough, I think it would be amazing for Boise to get some 'real' towers in the future that stepback towards the top, literally creating snow capped skyscrapers....talk about picturesque skyline shots, and a unique marketing tool for an ambitious developers building!

Just imagine if the aspen was a bit taller how the snow capped mountains would look in it's reflection
