^Haha...that's my photo (it's also on flickr...)! anyways, that pictured is Gallagher Park, I haven't been there since the snowfall so I don't know how much snow is there.

It's a great place to toboggan in winter (which is what the kid in pic is doing). Anyways it's near the Muttart Conservatory. If you look in Google Maps it will be off Connors Road to the right or east of Muttart on Cloverdale Rd. You can even look from via Cloverdale on Streetview by Google. That's where this was, anyways. It's a great skyline angle, too.

^yes... through Louise Mckinney Park. Ask at the hostel.

I would also recommend skyshuttle.

I had a tour of your hostel a month ago and was very impressed. Clean, friendly, and great staff.

I bet I probably won't even find snow on the ground

You realize that those temperatures are all negative, right? There will be lots of snow, and -5 is perfect weather for winter outdoor activities. Try sledding on connors hill (in the pic). You should be able to get a crazy carpet for about $5 somewhere near downtown, maybe winners or save-on.

F@#k me that's cold! At least you'll have a story to tell your friends when you get back to Oz (assuming you survive the insane Alberta cold)!

It's impossible to even describe this type of cold to someone who has never experienced it before. We must be nearing some kind of December low-temperature record.

I went for a 10 minute walk this morning to buy some coffee beans, and I nearly froze solid.

We should convince the gf's to come watch our game tonight. I'm sure sitting in Donnan for 2 hours won't be that cold.
