They've updated their permit for "New Construction" by the way, it's "under review".

Was walking home from work, and noticed some progress...

This building is coming along fairly quickly, already on the fifth floor.

Looks like the 6th floor is on.

From the front it looks 6 storeys but from the back it looks 7.

They are definitely on track for a June opening. Shouldn't be long now that they'll take the crane down.

Stucco...yaaaay!! There's a wonderful surprise.

The city's going to have to institute a no stucco by-law pretty soon or things are gonna get out of hand.

It looks like they are doing brickwork on the lower two floors now - the part that has not yet been finished with stucco.

Update on the George St stucco box.

At least these aren't made of stucco and cardboard...

I noticed the other night that they have the Staybridge sign up on the building. It was all lit up the other night. The sign is at the top right hand side of the building facing George St.

I noticed a Liquor License Application in the window along Caroline Street on Friday.

They seem to have finished most of the finishing touches on the outside now (trim, canopies, etc.)

The two-way conversion of Caroline between Main and King also appears to be underway (1 new lane northbound + 2 lanes still southbound)

Caroline Street goes two-way Friday

There will be two-way traffic on Caroline Street South between King and Main Streets starting Friday, June 29.

The decision to change the southbound street was made back in 2001 when Hamilton’s Downtown Transportation Master Plan was approved by Hamilton city council.

Kelly Anderson, city public works, said drivers and cyclists should use caution while traveling through the area.

She said to watch for new traffic signs, pavement markings and pedestrians.
