A pitch will be made Tuesday for this third residential highrise building at Lyle and Dundas streets.

Quote:
Meadallion is proposing a 21-storey, 66-metre tall, apartment building with up to 299 residential units.

The tower is up for rezoning and site plan approval, and if approved it will join its sister towers, a 24-storey, 325-unit apartment building located at the intersection of King and Hewitt streets and a 21-storey, 292 unit apartment building located mid-block along King St.

I called about rent there... A 2 room with a parking spot was about $1250..........

the fuck......

I am fully supportive of this being built, but how in the fuck is the interest there at those rental costs?

A one bedroom downtown with a parking spot currently runs close to $1300, so it's not too unreasonable. Given the location I agree with you though. Curious whether demand is there for a third tower at those prices.

Maybe the majority of the units are 1 and 1+, thus more affordable?

pre-cast concrete

Progress is fast with the use of pre-cast concrete slabs. Like Tricar's Azure tower on Talbot this tower should go up fast. Pre-cast concrete slabs apparently speed up projects by 25% compared to poured in place concrete construction methods.

No one in SSP Local London is a moderator. Thus, no one who's actively here can change anything.

The 2nd floor concrete slabs have been set and the foundation walls backfilled. Progress should increase once the podium is finished in the next couple of weeks. Would expect 2 floors per month once Sept arrives.
