^^Nice. The only thing I wouldn't mind with tweaking is the crown. The rest of the tower for me imo is good to go.

I like how the rest of the tower is not aligned with the base. With the setbacks and the terracotta bronze like cladding, then the shape from square transforming to rounded as it rises towards the top is great. This tower can look quite gotham like, but modern imo.

So it appears, the whole Eastern Yard sis under construction minus 50 HY. I'm just glad Related is not going with similar colored cladding for all of their towers. 55 HY in black, 35 HY in terracotta bronze, 15 HY looks to be a darker glass and from the previous rendering of 50 HY, it appears it will be cladded differently.

Presenting the Eiffel Tower. lol

Are these renderings purposely blurry? I'm wondering if they're still working on the final look of the buildings

I was going to reply, but you beat me to it with exactly the same thoughts.
I mean, this is New York. To suggest that it won't be iconic is rather insulting.

I will form my own opinion when I see it for myself.
I don't need no armchair critic telling me what to think.

Now for my response.
I really like the bold color of this building!
It's not all black or all glass.
Nothing wrong with the Trump Towers of Manhattan, mind you; but this design will make heads turn for sure!

I would say that SOM is the anti Zaha Hadid who, thanks God seems not to have a bright future in NY..Their designs could be too formal for some people(Chinese cities lovers)but they are always very seriously executed with a timeless presence.
Despite the tough competition,Som is always a prominent and leading architecture and engineering office after all these years...

What I like about the Hudson Yard complex is that it looks like it will combine the best of what other cities have and the specialness of New York supertalls. It looks like it will have setback towers, great landscaping, wide sidewalks and yet tons of enormous, stunning towers. Unmatchable.

It looks to me like a screen capture from an animation. I was assuming that caused the blurriness. Also would explain the fact that lots of other towers are also featured in the shot.

I agree!

This is one iconic tower that (when combined with the others coming soon) will transform a small (but significant) part of Manhattan into a destination!

I'm really happy they took inspiration from the piazza's of Rome and the rest of Italy when they designed this. The plaza will be incredible, no doubt.

Work on the tower base continues.

Notice how close steel columns were placed to each other. They will support massive weight of 1,000ft tower.

This is one of those towers that gets little attention due to its location, (it's basically supertall filler), and design fluctuations. But it's a pretty significant building in it's own right.
It would be the tallest in many cities.

15, 35, and 30 Hudson...
