I am guessing no one was hurt. That wind is a mother!
Bulgar, did you catch that? As usual, Amazing photos!
Do you see, Yimbys, what happens when you build tall buildings? DANGEROUS WIND TUNNELS. Teach the controversy.

We got off lightly. The winds put me in mind of the crane collapse in NYC last year.

No, I'm unaware of this. I'll try and stop by the site later today to scope out the scene.

Looks like new supports/braces were set up today to jack up the core crane. Can someone please verify? Thanks!

Didn't hear anything about the new building. The Comcast Center had a damaged panel:

Observation Deck for CITC

I didn't realize Liberty One opened an observation deck on the 57th floor last year (November 2015 I believe). Seems it would make a great vantage point to see construction of the new tower. Has anyone been there yet?

Maybe that's what he meant. One of his Co-workers told him, so you know how to play "whisper down the lane".
Still, an incredible amount of wind! Like Knights Hospitaller mentioned, it could have been much worse. Thank God it wasn't a crane like in N.Y. Man, that's scary.

No, haven't been there yet. But many bloggers on this site provide excellent photos from up above.
Which I hope you don't mind me asking, where are your shots from?
That is an awesome seat in the house!
Keep the good work up!
I can assume there are quite a few that look forward to such great photos!
Thanks again!

He hasn't said. But from his photos, it sure looks like he's right there.
I guess he will answer for himself.

I appreciate the sudden interest! Let me help clear up some of the speculation. I'm an architect here in Philadelphia, but unfortunately, not involved in the construction of the Comcast tower. I just happen to love photography and architecture. I work on predominantly larger buildings. The last few photos were taken from a venue called 'Top of the Tower' at 3 Logan Square. Hope this helps clear up some of the rumors

ps: I use an 8-year old pseudo-DSLR Canon powershot (point and shoot). I like to touch-up some of the photos in Photoshop for clarity.

As viewed from West Philly. This vantage point really allows one to see how much progress the core has undergone:

The back mount has been installed along with the support wires down to the previous collar, but the new collar hasn't been installed yet.

They're also preparing to jump the core crane soon--the upper collar looks like it's almost fully, if not fully, installed (leaving 3 for now).
