He doesn't exude baller, but he already owns something like 2 or 3 full floor penthouses in Chicago and he's the rumored buyer of the most expensive piece of private home real estate in NYC history ($200M). Citadel is also paying the highest price per sq ft for office space in the history of NYC in one of the newest buildings. He kind of quietly just does this, but him buying a full floor (or two) penthouse is nothing new. He has a few of them.The two moves alone in NYC kind of make me believe he does this stuff on purpose to be kind of like "how do you feel that the person paying the highest price for office space in NYC history and the highest price for just one unit of residential real estate in NYC history is actually a Chicagoan?" There were a lot of pissed off New Yorkers online when he was the rumored buyer - even going as far as saying that he couldn't afford a $200M unit (these idiots are so bad at math if they truly believe this).
