I've ended up liking this tower a LOT more than I thought I would.

@WonderlandPark2

Great shots. Hotel came out really nice. Wish SF had a rooftop bar and lounge like that!

Sorry, I expected more out of this world class building. The hotel room interior designers should do better. This is not Best Western, or Red Roof. This is Wilshire Grand!

It doesn't matter how many posts I've had. I give credit where credit is due. If it looks amazing, I will say so. But in this case, based on those pictures, it's quite disappointing.

I was in LA last week, and I have to say that this thing looks incredible, especially from the South or West. Didn't see any logo on the "fin" though, just standard lighting.

I'll have to say the rooms are beautiful in person. This place is amazing imo.

I did a vacation in it as well. The whole hotel is incredible, truly world class. It comes across much better in person than in pictures. I've done a staycation at the Ritz as well, and the Intercontinental blows it out of the water. Easily the best urban hotel in Southern California.

What is supposed to go at the north side rooftop? Is it just an extension of the current bar on the south side?

The different parts might be greater than the whole but those parts are really good and so LA. The deck, pool and sky lounge look great!

As a person that's been to the five star high-end hotels...you really show your ignorance. I'm sure you haven't been to the Ritz or even a W...and you clearly haven't been to an Intercontinental Hotel. These rooms are actually more modern and with the times than some of the other IHs. As with most high end hotels are getting away from the old traditional/Victorian decor.

Love the blinking red beacon at the top of the spire--can probably be seen for over 50 miles on clear night. Maybe the beacon should be orange since L.A. has been called the "Big Orange"? Maybe they could even lower a "big orange" ball down the spire on New Years Eve, like the ball they lower in Times Square? Will the spire itself ever be lit up? Anybody know? Would love to see some creative lighting on the WG tower like they do on the Empire State Building--e.g. big red heart on St. Valentine's Day etc. Would also like to see more light shows on the rival supertall U.S. Bank (Library) tower. Two supertalls in DTLA with light shows, at least on special days, would be awesome! Dynamic lighting also, that moves, or would that be too distractive to freeway motorists? Moving lights are common on many new buildings in other cities. Maybe just on special occasions, like a waving American flag light projection on 4th of July?
