Wow, beautiful pictures. I'm curious, what time were they taken? This one in particular is striking to me -- so still, so orderly, so clean, no people, 1 car. It almost looks like some propaganda photos of those new, empty buildings and streets in Pyongyang.

I realize that's completely inaccurate, as I'm there all the time running on the trail... but wow, what a shot to have captured. I wouldn't have thought it was possible.

That's actually a really quiet spot. I don't think a lot of people know about it. Love the green field looking across Butler Park.

Thank you all! Hookem, these pictures were taken around sunset. Like what Kevin said, that area is always quiet, thus giving that "propaganda" vibe you felt lol.

^ In some ways that's a shame, I think. I've always loved 360 from south of the river. That said, I'm glad to see the crazy growth on the site of a former green water treatment plant. Crazy to think of what that area was just a short few years ago...

In the future, after the Domain and North Burnet areas get some taller buildings, I'd love to see an aerial shot from Mount Bonnell extending from there to downtown Austin.

Austin skyline evolution from 2001 to 2016. Appears to be from the Barton Creek Mall parking lot.

I took a screen capture from the Independent's skyline webcam and did some simple processing. #PhotographyForDummies
