The demolition of Stockholm City (Klara neighbourhood). Before - during and after.

As I am sure most people all ready know, Stockholm is a very old city founded in the early 13th century.

Stockholm City (Klara) used to be vibrant, old neighbourhood with buildings dating from the 18th century. In the 50s the city council decided that Stockholm would be a modern city with shopping malls, big roads, car parks and huge office buildnings.

This thread is supposed to share photos of the Klara neighbourhood before the demolition began in the 50s, show the when the buildnings are tore down as well as show the result. Enjoy!

Stockholm City Museum (Stadsmuset) owns copyright to many of the images posted in this forum. The original images and descriptive metadata
can be found in the www.stockholmkallan.se, along with rights and licensing information.
