Crazy. I used to walk by there every day going to work. And sometimes wait on those benches for my ride.

I know people who work in the Chase building now so I can probably get them to take pictures for me, periodically.

That would be great. Photo updates of this project seem harder to come by.

An FAA filing was made yesterday for a Block 71 tower crane. It's 754' tall which is pretty tall for a 542' building.

No joke. The one for the Independent is 748 feet. That would be the tallest one yet.

I'm guessing that it has to be that tall since this project will have two cranes on each end of it. The second crane will probably be around 640' which will be half way between the roof and taller crane.

That 212 feet higher than the roof seems overkill as does the lower crane. I'd be curious as to the reason for this. Could it be a typo?

You have to have plenty of room and clearance to swing things from the crane. Once it's up, it's a pain to adjust the height.

It could also be that tall because the crane will have a luffing jib.

The second site plan (for the tower) seemed close to being approved, but the status changed to "inactive" around a week ago. So they must be doing some final tweaks to the project before the site plan is approved and released.

In case you think this might've changed, nope still a big hole in the ground, But this time from a different vantage point. I do think seeing Claudia Taylor Johnson Hall on its own island pretty cool.

After a few days of not having file attachments on permits, they are back as of today. Yay!

The final elevations were added to the site plan today, and there was no change to the height and floor count.

With this and 6X just a few blocks to the west, we are going to see and interesting step up in building size starting with Aloft, One American, Block 71, then 6X, plus a nice cluster and canyon effect.
