I just drove by and there is a lot more glass on the building. I wasn't able to get any shots, but I am finally starting to get a feel for how the cladding will look.

It will be the 8th tallest actually. (wiki link) The Direct Control zoning allows it to be 119m + the mechanical penthouse. So that beings said, it could be as tall as the 5th tallest when complete if measuring to the tip of the mechanical penthouse.

Feels A LOT taller because of nothing past 21-24 storeys around it.

Spoke to 2 of the glaziers the other day, they are going to be going hard at it from now on.

I went for a long walk this afternoon and caught the Pearl from several angles, including close-up. Here are my photos from today.

'Big Accomplishment - Top Floor Being Poured

Pearl Tower is the talk of Edmonton because of it's dramatic impact on Edmonton's skyline, standing proud on the West edge of Downtown.
Excitement in the City will continue to climb as the sparkling curtain wall glass continues to wrap Pearl Tower higher and higher.

We've reached a significant milestone as the concrete for Pearl's 36th Floor, the top of the Tower, is now being poured.

Our Chief Operating Officer, Raj Dhunna, was recently up there inspecting the work. He was awe-struck with the view. From that height he said the horizon is absolutely breathtaking! You can see all the way to Sherwood Park and the International Airport too.'

The glass is looking good. IMO it's turning out better than the rendering.

Now that there is more glass in place I am becoming a fan of the glass. I was very skeptical at first.

I stopped by the Pearl today to check out the progress. The glass has made a huge leap since I was there last! Here are some photos from earlier today.

That glass is starting to look pretty damned good! I guess they chose it on purpose to reflect the sky...

Big update today! I stopped by the Pearl and got a bunch of sunny, hot and humid shots of the building's progress.
