The prismatic glass on the base appears "true vertical" in your rendering when in fact it slants inwards at 7 degrees. Visually, the vertical lines in that oblique angle viewpoint of the base should not appear perpendicular to the ground nor parallel to the adjacent buildings.... Should they?
The sides of the base are vertical. Only the corner chamfers are slanted.

The one on the left is correct.

Hey Zen:

Do you think the cladding has in any way slowed the work on floors 47,48?. The west side of 47,48 is slower to be built out then the last several jumps..

Curtain wall installation should have no effect on steel erection, quite the reverse. Steel is top priority, followed by core and slab concrete.

The corner panels were installed on Sunday because they were not erecting steel that day therefore the tower crane was available. The rest of the panels were brought up by a construction elevator and hung with portable hoists.

How do they fit in a 7* slant like that? Aren't you going to run into the columns? Or have the base columns slanted outwards and nobody ever noticed?

My bad folks...

Only the corners are slanted inwards... I was having a Brain F*&t about STR's render of the base.

Now back to your regular scheduled programming....

LOL

You're list would not be the only one of those that I would be on.

However, according to an old render on the first page of this thread, the corners have some panels of glass and they are indeed slanted 7 degrees inward. Your render does not show these.

(Found on page one of this thread.)

It only slants out 7 degrees at the corner chamfer, and the corner columns are 7 degrees from vertical.

In case anyone missed it, the cardinal direction faces of the tower are perfectly vertical at the center from the lobby floor to the top of the parapet.

LOL, yep.

I should read faster next time.

Don't worry STR, your renderings carry the Zen stamp of approval.
