Keep in mind though that while this may be in the middle of the desert, this is part of a master plan to build a mini city in its proximity. Similar to Dubai, only not with such magnitude.

It's actually crazy how close it will be to the airplanes coming in on RWY 16R at King Abdulaziz International Airport.

If only the Miami FAA was like that.

We can't even get a 1100 footer without the FAA panicking. Even a 800 footer has a really hard time.
