NEW YORK: Evolution from New Amsterdam to Present

Hello all,

Long-time lurker, first-time poster here. Although printing is my main trade I have a fascination with architecture and municipal design. On that level this forum has some of the best pics I've come across and I wanted to share a bit of inspiration myself. It's an ongoing series on my blog, hundreds of pictures strong so far, with about 2000 more to post.

Title: Evolution of New York City
Author: Fine Print
Source: Most of these images are from NYC's amazing municipal archives and shorpy.com
URL: http://fineprintnyc.com/blog/evoluti...rt-1-1490-1900

We have six chapters up so far, enjoy!

If there is ever a doubt about why New York is so different from other places, all you have to do is look at these photographs.

@NYguy - love the photos. George Cushman was a true revolutionary with his kodachrome prints! His work is only surpassed by Saul Leither. A couple of them appear in our latest chapter:

At over 200+ photos, Chapter 13 is absolutely MONSTROUS. Quite a few shots in color this time, plus a bonus video at the end.
