Looking at this pic I really feel queasy thinking of being a workman on the terra cotta and glass. No room or safety net below you. Just a very long view down. Up top at least there is a sense of safety with the nets, but not on that tiny scaffolding for the terra cotta. The fearlessness of the workers amazes me! How these towers rise amaze me with every pic.

Thanks for all the great posts with great photos.

Tough job up there, but somebody's gotta do it. And lucky for us, they are!

I would never live in that thing if I had the money. Thing looks so skinny at the tip. I just don't get the appeal of living at the top of some gigantic toothpick that looks like it would fall over in a stiff breeze. Especially when you could just buy a mansion on the UES and not have to worry about parachutes.

Just when you think it is T/O, they add another section to the crown!

I really love this building and it must be pretty damn impressive to stand below and look up at a 1400 ft tall skinny building, but I sure do wish it had a little bit bigger of a footprint. It looks kinda odd being so skinny and tall in the skyline.

Maybe some people just like the large spaces and awesome views.

Then again, if you stretched an upper eastside mansion up to 1,400 ft, you'd probably call that a toothpick too.

That is so incredibly sexy, wish I had a spare 400 million to get that.

Good thing you don't have that difficult choice to make...but no one is living at the tip. The highest residence is several hundred feet below in a "thicker" portion of the building.
