Great pictures!! Love the mountain pictures. I've never hiked to Stack Rock but it is something I would be interested in doing someday. Thanks for the photo tour.

Stack Rock is definitely worth the hike and the views are incredible.

December Ninth ~ The final days of Fall

Keep close to Nature's heart, and break clear away and climb a Mountain or spend a week in The Woods. Wash your spirit clean.

I also love the mountain pics. Of the three capital cities in the region Boise is definitely the city nearest vast forests.

Idaho is the most forested state of all the inland western states and Boise is literally at the base of the great northwest forest ecosystem which begins in the mountains above the city and valley. The Boise National Forest is one of the largest forests in the nation and it is our backyard.

We also have more miles of white water rivers than any other state in the lower 48, more than 3100 miles within the states boundaries and a lot of that is north of Boise.

Another interesting fact is Boise has the largest geothermal energy system in the nation and one of the largest in the world. I've been slowly shooting photos for a future project and hope to share them here at some point in the future.
