It's not talked about nearly as much, but Tishman's LIC developments as a whole (residential and office) are to LIC what Related's huge development is to the Hudson Yards.

There are more construction workers and pickup trucks than residents or normal cars in this area. Drive around noon, as lunch approaches, to see what I mean.

Traffic comes with the turf, but it's the cost of progress. The traffic in the area is abysmal.

Essentially 95% of the towers visible were not here 5 years ago.

So I took Louis Armstrong's' What a wonderful world, and modified it to relate to NYC, the boom, and the concept that the song shares.

I see towers of blue, crackheads too
I see them bloom for me and youtube
And I think to myself what a wonderful world

I see glass of blue and blank walls of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself what a wonderful world

The colors of the skyline so pretty in the distance
Are also on the shirts of people going by
I see friends shaking hands saying how you do
They're really saying piss off too

I hear babies crying, I watch them in traffic
They'll learn much more when the GWB is blocked
And I think to myself what a wonderful world
Yes I think to myself what a wonderful world

The one thing that I don't like about it all is the somewhat irregular street grid.
Then again, all older cities tend to have them.
