Szczecin, Poland - poor but sexy

Szczecin is the capital city of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland. In the vicinity of the Baltic Sea, it is the country's seventh-largest city and the largest seaport in Poland. As of June 2011 the population was 407,811. [wiki]

Great photos. It may be poor, but so rich in culture and great people. And I'm sure many of those buildings will be rehabilitated to then resemble the many historic buildings found in Krakow and Wroclaw.

Thanks for the pics!

Poor? I don´t think so. What I see is a nice city, with very pretty buildings. I like it.

Congrats and greetings from Madrid, Spain!

Instead, you might compare them to the many historic buildings found in Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, etc, as this was a German city for centuries until 1945. If it resembles Polish architecture, it might be closest to other former German cities now in Poland like Wroclaw.

That's very true. Frankly, my comparison primarily entailed my own first hand account of its similarity to other Polish cities as I have only visited Poland at this point and hopefully Germany in the future.

Yeah, straight up German architecture right there. It is interesting how architecturally and aesthetically European Poland is, only for Western Europeans to diss it as not being "culturally European."

Excellent photos, fascinating place. It presents an appealing contrast compared with the popular tourist cities.
