The big payoff will be seeing the two layers of sheathing being completed.

My word, some of these Shanghai shots are fantastic. I tried to get such good photos, but alas, the weather/smog was not cooperating when I visited in June 2012.

^Even on the clearest of days, visibility isn't that high in Shanghai. Besides, there aren't any approach angles to the city that would allow such long distance viewing due to at least partial blocking by other highrises.

This is already a massive building.

the fully transparent glass is nothing short of spectacular. it makes the tower even more of a spectical. if that is even possible.

It will be a fantastic tower when completed in every way but one... the views from inside will be dramatically obstructed by the trusses, the floor plates and the reflections off the extra layer of glass. Otherwise it will be one of the coolest skyscrapers there is.

Has any of the interior layer of glass gone up yet? It's tough to tell from the photos.

What height is the building at? It looks like about 1100-1200ft by my estimates based on the height of the other two towers

Starting on 5th truss, by slate spring this sucker should be at the 8th truss, and hopefully finishing up the roof design... I cant stress enough, this thing could pass 1 wtc by the end of Jan, well maybe february, but at this pace the sky is the limit.. Wish they would have added 2 more trusses, and shot for 2400-2500.. Just an awesome structure.. Anybody know how many panes of glass this tower will use, since twice as much for double cladding.
