Where some other desert cities are encircled by land much more sparse and barren, Phoenix actually shares it's borders with a very complex ecosystem. The Sonoran Desert is beautiful, and unlike almost anywhere else in the world.

I was out in Cave Creek near a Riparian habitat in the Sonoran Desert and I felt lucky to live in one of the most unique natural areas in the world.

And there are so many types of desert in Arizona, with their own look, and all beautiful.
^ Though it may be a little hotter, by the time summertime temps reach, for example 110 or so, hot is hot. I own a black car, and at the end of a very hot day, any difference is honestly irrelevant.
