San Antonio - Grand Hyatt Shots and More (1/25/08)

Hey guys...I was in town this past weekend and had the chance to snap dozens of shots around downtown SA ... most noteably the Grand Hyatt. As I stated in another thread, I must admit that the Hyatt's design has really grown on me. As wide as the building is, the width is minimized by the adjacent Marriotts and even the Tower of the Americas, to an extent. Here are my shots from 1/25:

I really like this vantage point, from the Rivercenter Mall's 'lagoon' area...

The effect is almost surreal now....

Here'a few miscellaneous shots from the Riverwalk environs

The famous 'wall' angle of the Nix hospital

And a few more Hyatts...

I haven't been to SA in years, but I thoroughly enjoyed the quick series of photos. For some reason, seeing more angles of the Grand Hyatt... I don't feel as bad about it at this point. Would like to see it all in person relatively soon though.

Good stuff. The Grand Hyatt isn't so bad after all me thinks.

Great pics, especially the last one!

Yeah, I bet you really feel small standing in the lagoon area now haha.

Really liking the red and orange squares.

Looks very tall, even from street level looking up at the wide wall side. It looks like it's taller than 424' to me.

what surprised me is that there is basically no setback at all from market street. neck-breaking.

i am curious to see what that really does for it on street level.
