I'm kinda hoping Frats bails and something cool/unique comes. A Burlington strip mall chain isn't exactly the best fit for King William.

The folks behind The French, Aberdeen Tavern, Diplomat are opening a new spot in the ground floor of the Lister Annex once complete.

Anyone know what is going in the old Thai place on the block? That spot is being totally renovated right now.
The old Thai Memory is going to become the Sales Centre for the Kresge condos and once those are done/sales are done it will be renovated (back) into a restaurant...

They're also opening in Westdale, and very exciting to me: Kenilworth Ave N. I see massive potential for Kenilworth as a new urban street scene in the years/decades ahead. Much like Barton.

289 Kenilworth shows on this map as being at the old Bar-Ken, south east corner of Barton and Kenilworth.

At the old Bryan Prince Bookseller location? I drive by that place each day and it's a great location for a restaurant. Knock the green fence down and take one or two parking spots and you've got great patio space.

It looks like a new restaurant or bar called "905" is opening in the old Incognito space on John S.

It's owned by the group that owns Aout'n About on Augusta.

Not Unique Restaurant Group right? they own Augusta house and Pheasant Plucker.

Seems like Unique, The Other Bird and Equal Parts are 3 of the big players in the restaurant industry in Hamilton.

yeah I read in The Spec that Arkells will be partners in this venture. The bandmates said they could never find a sports bar in Hamilton that they truly enjoyed so they're going to work with The Other Bird to create one

I went there for lunch today. It doesn't feel like a sports bar at all, but also doesn't feel like a cool indie bar so I'm not really sure if they hit the mark, vibe wise. Maybe it would feel better at night. Feels like they just moved in to an existing place and added some TVs and a few posters on the wall.

Food was good and well priced, $16 bucks (taxes included) for a sandwich, fries and a salad. The lead singer of the Arkells was there taking pictures with the rest of the clientele, which seemed to be primarily lawyers.

Big Tobacco Kitchen

I haven't been on George Street in a while. Has anything replaced the now-closed BTK?
