Not in context. Every other building is that colour.

Exactly. It will be a nice change.

I wasn't crazy about the black stripes on it, but those are only on the first few floors I believe. You can see them being skipped on the most recently reclad floors in the pic.

Not me for 2 reasons. Look how small the old windows were compared to the new installation. The other reason is Winnipeg could use more glass. It has so very few glass towers but lots of beige buildings. I'm not suggestion glass is better only variety is nice.

Yeah, good job in making the windows appear twice their size. I don't get the change from a black stripe to a turquoise one. The mullion caps need to be black (can't tell if those are pressure plates or finished)

The old cladding is badly weather beaten. It doesn't look that good.

I didn't even notice the new windows are not actually full height now. That seems like a missed opportunity.

It could have been done but at a tremendous cost.

Most office towers with curtain wall do not have 'full height' like in residential. Spandrel panels are often 30-40%.

Very educational but, look at the photo. It's easily 60% spandrel.

The WSP tower reclad keeps looking better every time I see an update, I can't wait to see the aluminum panels.

So far it's looking great, one of the better recladding projects I've seen lately. Interestingly there have been a few other good ones nearby... it's nice little cluster of attractive reclads.

I like the reclad in Winnipeg but I do have some nostalgia for the brown as I remember visiting the city the summer it was topping out. The "Commodity Exchange Tower" ... always thought that was a cool name and everyone in the Peg seemed so excited about it going up.

The WSP Tower reclad belongs in 1995. We don't need a revival. The worst is they actually added the generic, office park, bow window front. Nice glass which makes it that much worst.

Upon second look, the teal spandrel on the upper most floors of the Winnipeg tower looks like blueskin or something to that effect.

The renderings showed it as being consistent with the recladding (or reskinning as Whippersnapper perhaps more accurately put it) of the rest of the building, we've been scratching our heads about why it's being done this way in the Man-Sask subforum.

I think the ARTIS tower in Winnipeg should be done to the utmost standard as it is the HQ of a substantial property owner in western Canada and a bit of the US. If it looks like crap in the end, it's only their fault and reflects on the company as a whole. Their recladding of the podium of the neighbouring RBC building should be interesting to watch as well. It is the oldest example of the "International Style" in the city.
