Do any of you know what the plans are for the lot on the corner of Robert e lee and Paris? It seemed first NBC was going to build there. Now I read about possibly an oschner? Any info would be helpful!

I’m a cancer patient (in remission 5 years) this visit to MD Anderson in Houston. I’m flown by Pilots for Patients each trip. This morning on my flight to Houston from Lakefront Airport, I snapped 11 GREAT pics of the North Terminal at MSY. I can’t post them. They’re really great. Can I send them to someone to post?

I tried clicking on the link you sent me to send pics, but it failed. There must be some way to get these 11 pics of the North Terminal, including a views of the rest of the airport & the lake on this site.

They have job postings out now for GM positions for the market. Apparently it opens early 2018.

The foot at canal street is the World Trade Center and is going to be a Four Seasons hotel/condos work should start any day now. The other one is the Plaza Tower (personal fav) and the owner of that Joe Jaeger, recently said he would start work on it soon with South Market next door doing so well.

Great news!!! I love your city. I can't wait to see these two blighted buildings be put to productive use.

Thanks.. yeah the major work for four seasons starts in december and will go until 2020 when it opens... the plaza tower we dont really have details yet but given the owner is Joe Jaeger Id suspect that will happen once he wraps up The Jung project which open the end of November.. the other big abandoned building is Charity Hospital and the state is working on redeveloping that with a recently released rfp... it was gutted and cleaned over the summer

I have good vibes about the WTC site. I think that will get done. Not so much good vibes for the Plaza Tower. It's off the beaten path a bit... in my opinion. The Charity Hospital seems like a no brainer for residential adaptive reuse. Would condos sell here?

The Plaza Tower was certainly off the beaten path but not so anymore and as South Market builds the last two projects that will really incorporate it more into the street grid. Its probably a year or so out before anything even proposed but in three years there will be plenty of things around the plaza tower making it more connected.

Condos i dont see being proposed at charity since it looks like the state wants to still own it and make it mixed use... work force housing or dorms with medical space and retail seems most likely proposal

*sigh* This is why government makes terrible real estate developers.

They should let the private market determine what's the best use of the property with few conditions, such as the historical elements be retained. If there are too many restrictions and strings attached, it will never get developed or be successful in the long run. Right now it's demolition by negligence.

yeah i wish they would have sold it personally although im not sure that is completely off the table... i guess we shall see.. charity is a monstrous project and will most likely take some state incentives or tax credits to get done... remember its more than just the main building but includes other buildings nearby

*UPDATE* Traffic Advisory: Central Business District

OCTOBER 27, 2017
NEW ORLEANS — On Monday, Oct. 30 and Tuesday, Oct. 31, the City of New Orleans construction contractor, Jack P. Harper Electrical, LLC will close portions of Poydras Street and S. Peters Street from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The lane closures are necessary to accommodate the $1.3 million Pedestrian Improvements Project currently underway in the Central Business District. Drivers may experience traffic delays during this time.

On Monday, Oct.30, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. traffic impacts will include:

Closing the lakebound, left turning lane on Poydras Street at Loyola Avenue;
Closing the riverbound, left turning lane and center lane on Poydras Street at Loyola Avenue; and
Closing the lakebound and riverbound, right travel lane on South Peters Street at Poydras Street.
On Tuesday, Oct. 31, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. traffic impacts will include:

Closing the lakebound and riverbound, left turning lanes on Poydras Street at Lasalle Street; and
Closing the lakebound and riverbound, right travel lane on Poydras Street at South Rampart Street.
The Pedestrian Improvements Project calls for retrofit existing traditional walk/stop pedestrian signals with countdown timers and adding new pedestrian countdown signals in the Downtown area. Pardon our progress as we continue to improve the City of New Orleans Infrastructure.

Public safety is our top priority; Residents and commuters are reminded to use caution when driving, bicycling and walking near this construction site.

For questions and / or concerns about the project, please contact RoadWork NOLA at 504.658.ROAD or send e-mail to roadwork@nola.gov.
