Oh.. sorry, just realized they only did half of #1 last April (from 6:30 to 7:45) and leave the second half till later (7:45 to 9:00)...

Well, the current plan is to bring SeaBus up to Frequent transit level (Monday - Sunday 15min service until 9pm) before moving toward 10min service. That is, IF there's funding available...

In term of passenger load, seems like 15min Sunday service is much more needed than the 9pm service and increase peak hour frequency...

I prefixed those numbers with "I'd say" to indicate that it's my opinion, not an official stat.

2 million can pay for quite a lot of things. Translink is even scraping for pennies so thats why 2 million is important. For example they cut bus routes 26/27/29 to 3 times an hour in the daytime vs 4 times an hour, recently.

Translink's responsibility is not to support Canadian jobs. It's to provide the best service at the lowest cost. With that in mind, it's hard to blame them for taking the proposal that was ~10% cheaper overall.

As far as the bus/seabus schedule being synchronized, it's not the end of the world to have extra dwell time. All the better for local shops and creating a more vibrant atmosphere.

Its 50% cheaper! Fed contribute 23M toward the project and TransLink have to pay the rest. So a 25M contract will cost them 2M while a 27M contract will cost 4M.
