Vertically speaking, tower 2 has been going up rather quickly, whereas furnishing in both towers has barely even begun. Why?

I imagine it is a hard sell for both residents and retail tenants to move into an active construction zone.

I think the apts are supposed to start accepting people over the winter, but it's been a long time coming.

I'd have to assume that once Tower 1 is fully complete and the retail podiums for both buildings are finished that they could contain the construction area of the complex to a much smaller - perhaps out of the way - location.

Also - good photo showing how awful that Robinsons/Marshals/CVS block now looks relative to this.

I just passed by briefly on the way to old city and there is not too much to see because of the scaffolding.

I couldn't help to notice the 5 vacant properties on the south side of Market between 9th and 11th. I really hope East Market takes off and they implode these buildings for something better deserving.

..... I have been watching the progress of this second tower via over head web cam for several weeks .
WOW , it's almost like this crane operator is on speed dial . I can hardly wait for this tower to top off .

Maybe this will help projects like 1301 Market become reality .... I hope . :roll eyes: ...... Or something

The retail in the first building still appears to be nowhere near completion. In fact, they haven't even started repairing the sidewalk on the market street side of the building. They are still hauling drywalll up into the apt tower which suggests things are far from complete up there as well.

Glad to see both screens up and running today.
I think that it's already been said in this thread that tenants won't be inclined to move in until this building is no longer an active construction site
