So excited for this

Although I don't think we even know the final height figure yet since those things are sometimes subject to change.

~980 foot buildings are great additions anywhere though, especially when they're cool looking.

Correct, the height is still being tweaked. 969'-2" per GP ASK 2019-01-24_01. The smaller tower is now 578'-2" and 49 floors per HPA ASK 5. Both of these were issued for facade buyout so should be very close to final.

Thanks for the updated figures!

Wow... less than two months away from the biggest high rise construction project we've had since Trump? Amazing having this and Vista in the same cycle. If we can somehow squeeze out just a couple more big ones then I'll be in seventh heaven for long enough to make it through whatever cool off period we have

When you consider the total scale of this project, it is bigger than Vista isn't it? I would say that, given the massive underground work here, this is larger than even Trump. It's got a lot in common with 900 N Michigan and Water Tower place with it's huge base, but with more height and two towers. This probably is the largest project in terms of footprint and size since 900 N.

Oh okay hopefully the next change (if there is one) can be back up, you know, like the right direction

I care less about 1,000 feet and more about reaching supertall status. Both arbitrary and meaningless, but it would be nice to have another supertall rising.

Agreed! I would be devastated if this doesn't exceed 300 m, which corresponds to 984.252 ft. Thus we should hope for at least 984.252 ft, not 984.0 ft! Is there a way to petition to the developer?

If it not being defined by arbitrary cutoffs as a supertall "devastates" you, you seriously need to reexamine your life

Yes, joking by exaggerating. But I am dead serious when I say that if this tower turns out to be 299.9 meters, I would be extremely disappointed.

then you're in luck!

bombardier has seen the latest drawings and they have the height at 969'-2" , or 295.3 meters for those of the metric persuasion.

no "danger" of 299.9 meters here.

My dream used to be building skyscrapers, now it is to develop a 999' 11" building.

This is the most unknown skyscraper development in Chicago height wise, you hear different sources stating 1011 ft.,969ft, and 1045ft. I will be happy when they break ground and hopefully give us a more firm or final number. I believe it will be closer to a supertall than the 969ft number.
